Digital Literacy Project / Product Manager
Position Overview
Post-secondary education in social sciences or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
Five (5) years of experience conducting web-based research and report writing (inclusive of relevant university degrees), including at least two years of experience in relevant areas such as responsible technology, ethical AI, and the impacts of technology on society
Demonstrated team leadership or mentorship experience
Knowledge and understanding of politics and the policymaking process in Canada, ideally as they relate to technology
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Strong networking and relationship management skills to build cross-functional stakeholder relationships
Technical proficiency in Google Suite/Drive, Slack, CRMS, and the ability to learn other systems
Excellent project management acumen
Ability to handle confidential information and maintain a high degree of ethics
Passionate about how technology influences society, and an advocate for responsible, ethical tech
Entrepreneurial mindset, including the ability to self-direct and self-motivate, to think outside the box, and to identify solutions that don’t yet exist
Nice-to-haves
A Master’s degree in a related field
Fluent in written and spoken French
Experience with leadership including fundraising
Experience working with advocacy or public interest organizations
Experience working in an NGO, nonprofit, or community organization
Experience working in small, geographically dispersed, and remote teams
Experience overseeing volunteers
An immersed understanding of the impacts of technology on society
Knowledgeable of current issues and events locally and globally
Established relationships with individuals and organizations operating in the tech
Familiarity with policy sector conversations in other jurisdictions, including but not limited to US and EU

Position Start Date, Commitment & Compensation
This is a 1-year contract part time (20 hours per week) position starting May 1 2026 or upon selection of a qualified candidate. Compensation will be pro-rated using an annual full-time compensation range between $52,500 - $58,000 depending on experience.
Working Location
The Contractor will work remotely. If in Vancouver, periodic in-person work sessions will be arranged as appropriate.
